MONDAYmeans it's back to work.

BUT I'm not really frowning upon this day. Why? Lemme count the reasons. Firstly, I had a great weekend. That is to put it simply. I also had the time to while away time doing nothing but eat, sleep and watch TV. Even before weekend could start, I was again transformed by this event I attended. And lastly, I had the chance to spend quality bonding time with long lost Tugon-RESCUE friends.

So, you can't really blame me for feeling good on a Monday.

Last Friday, I watched Uyayi, a lecture-production workshop that starred Chin-Chin Gutierrez. Albeit a bit boring, the show touched the very core of my being with its expose on the realities facing the country, and the planet as a whole.

Talk about doomsday.

As the main "man" of the show, Chin-Chin showed sincerity and integrity in discussing important issues that are usually talked about but usually ignored and not really acted upon. A sad reality, if you ask me.

Nowadays, people would rather talk about hairsprays and the latest fashion finds rather than discuss the destructive effects of CFC and environmental apathy.

I don't wanna dwell much on this issue and sound preachy. But I wanna leave you with this: We only have one earth. Our resources are limited; use them wisely. We've started feeling the symptoms of a dying earth already; do you plan to act upon these when it's already too late? Get your lazy bun moving NOW. Or die a pain and slow death.

Oh well, on to a lighter issue.

Tugon-RESCUE celebrated its 14th year of existence last Saturday (July 30) at Shakey's-UN Avenue. Once again, I got the chance to relive my college days with old friends. I was shocked to find Ira among the attendees. Gave her a good squeeze for it was the first time I've met her in one or two years. Kat was also there; missed her a lot, too. The Royal Family was complete once again. Well, almost.

For those who are clueless, Tugon-RESCUE is the premier student organization based in PLM. The first ever recipient of the Hall of Fame Award for consistently bagging the Most Outstanding Organization Award (for 11 years!), Tugon-RESCUE  regularly conducts projects that advocate academic awareness, campus leadership, community service, and environmental awareness.

After the party, we headed to a neighboring establishment to extend what was poised to be a long, fun-filled night.

With four barrels of beer on the table, the night went on with 20 (wait, make that more than 20) of us exchanging tales of success and adventure.

At 2 a.m. we had to go somewhere else for the place was closing down. So to another branch of the establishment we went. And boy did we rock! We danced the night away to the ditty played by the house band.

The party ended at 5 p.m. But we still want more. So off we went to España to eat tapsilog, pares, and mami. A new day started to dawn while I ate my Tapsi. (Can't eat eggs these days for I still have a skin allergy.)

I went home that day all ready for a good snooze. But when I got to lay on my bed, I just can't sleep, my motor still runnin' hot. So I checked what's on TV. Bummer! With nothing good to watch, I decided to just hit the sack. And off I went to La-la-land.

Zzz...
